While wandering around Newberry with my girlfriend’s kids, I set it upon myself to find them a playground. I had googled it using the motel’s WiFi to no avail, but I remembered on our last trip to Newberry, Kira and I had seen a large school building. When I looked the school up, I saw that it serviced an area larger than the state of Rhode Island, so I figured it had to have a playground. We meandered down M-123, got some ice cream, and continued on our way to where I remembered the school was. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that there was a playground and a suitable one at that. Complete with a handful of play structures, a few swing sets, and 6 basketball hoops; the Newberry Community Playground was just what the doctor ordered. When we visited, it was summer vacation, but I would imagine during the school year, the school uses the playground. It is nestled on a large parcel of land behind the school and nestled within a neighborhood. This is definitely a playground we will be coming back to, as the kids had a lot of fun here!
