Sands Park (Manistee)
We stopped at Sands Park to skate the skatepark but ended up exploring a bit of the park as well. Tennis courts, a baseball field, a newer playground, a soccer field, and the skatepark are located within Sands Park, and it is very well maintained. I believe that the park also offers an ice rink in the winter. In the center of the park is the Manistee County Teen Center, which is a rec center offering a concession stand, ping pong, pool, foosball, board games, video games, and WiFi. I think that’s a great idea in a smaller, remote community like Manistee, but there were not any patrons when we visited. Sands Park is a great place if your family likes a range of different activities as it has a bit of everything. Whether you fancy practicing your favorite sport, playing on the playground, learning to skateboard, or dropping your teen off at the rec center, Sands Park is a great place for folks from or visiting Manistee to enjoy life.
