Underground Little Ocqueoc River

The Underground Little Ocqueoc River is one of the coolest natural wonders I have seen in Michigan. The Little Ocqueoc River is by no means a triumphant river, but it has eroded away soft sandstone that underlays harder rock to form an underwater river that seems to appear out of nowhere just a few miles from the popular Ocqueoc Falls. On our first visit to the site, we thought we had gone to the wrong place, but after further inspection, we were able to find the small stream appearing to literally come out of the ground. It is far from triumphant, but it really is a cool thing to witness. There are a few trails around the river there as well that are worth checking out. If for no other reason than that it is just 5 minutes from Ocqueoc Falls, I highly recommend you add the Underground Little Ocqueoc River to your itinerary!
