Greenstone Falls

Three-quarters of a mile from Overlooked Falls and under a mile from the Little Carp River Parking Area sits Greenstone Falls. The falls are a bit taller than Overlooked Falls and quite a bit wider, but they are by no means triumphant compared to other falls in the area. Greenstone Falls was not overcrowded, and you can wade into the water and some even climb into the falls themselves. In the springtime, the falls are more vicious, but when we visited in August, the falls were fairly calm and enjoyable. I know that these falls are a favorite for photographers in the fall, as it is completely surrounded by foliage. Although we did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked at the falls, I enjoyed my time here enough to already want to visit them again. Our total trip from the parking lot to Overlooked Falls, followed by Greenstone Falls and then back, was just under 2 miles and under 200 feet in elevation gain. The trail is definitely not for the unsteady foot, as many portions are raised placard boards over mucky terrain, and the trail has some trip hazards.
