Lake of the Clouds Overlook

It is not often that I can wholeheartedly recommend a place that is the most visited place in a given area, but the Lake of the Clouds Overlook is the exception. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Lake of the Clouds and the Carp River, the overlook boasts stupendous views in every direction. My favorite view here was staring off to the east towards the end of the lake, where it almost looks like three chunks of land come together to make way for the wider end of the Carp River. There is not much I can say about the overlook that you won’t find in DNR literature or plastered all over the internet, but I will say that the earlier in the day you go, the better, and that it is a popular place for a reason. Definitely do not miss the chance to take in the view if you are in the Porcupine Mountains!
